Humans. You may know one. You may even be one yourself. They’re everywhere and they’re always messing up your project. Inefficient communication, the need for sleep, cat videos: there’s always some distraction keeping you from the glory that is yours.
Large organizations accomplish cool things with Project Managers who assist the dreamers (creative designers) and the doers (technical experts) by staging large projects into phases and smaller chunks, setting appropriate schedules, and reviewing progress. If it’s just you trying to tackle something big and scary, what do you do? You’ve got the creative spark, you’ve got the skill, you’ve put in the hard work, but it’s not getting done — it’s a total bummer.
Skilvirk is here to help tackle the overwhelming projects that plague you. Together we’ll define your project, set realistic expectations, and track your progress. Instead of you plodding along while feeling bad about what hasn’t been done, we’ll celebrate what has been done so you can feel successful as you work your plan and chip away at that to do list.
THE PROCESS
-
Identify Hurdles
Sometimes a project needs an outside perspective to highlight problem areas. Even the most organized can get stuck.
-
Analyze Productivity
We’ll collaborate on the best organizational styles, how to schedule without over-committing, and the crucial step — accountability.
-
Create The Environment
Do you thrive with activity around you or prefer quiet calmness to do your best?
-
Celebrate Successes
Stop beating yourself up. Projects are a series of successes to celebrate. Let’s party and you get your project moving.

Who is this Gary guy, anyway?
A 20+ year veteran of Information Technology at the University of Washington with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Gary initially focused on technology and innovation through software development, network engineering, and architecture. Over time, he found the “soft skills” of leadership and inter-personal relationships more intuitive and much more rewarding. He also decided he preferred working with individuals and small groups rather than large organizations.
It’s not clear if this came from engineering school, or it’s just Gary, but he is also a fiend for efficiency and systems. He loves to tinker and get things working as smoothly as possible. And he wants to help you do the same.
